Email: December 3rd

Hola!

We are starting week 5 right now can you believe that??!! It is crazy to think that in 1 1/2 weeks we will be on a plane going to Argentina! What is my life right now??!! I'm so excited I can't stand it, also Elder Nelson and Elder Christofferson visited my mission! We missed them by a couple of weeks! But I read about it and sounds like the church is doing well at the end of the world ;)

Ok so this week has been full of so many surprises and awesome things. First of all Thanksgiving, it was basically amazing. I do choir here with my whole zone, so we got to go to choir practice in the morning and run through Come Thou Fount. It was amazing and we got to sing it in front of... ELDER DAVID A BEDNAR!!! Can you believe it!! He did a Q and A with us. He sent out cellphones into the audience and we got to text him questions, and since it was combined with a bunch of other world wide MTC's they got to email in questions. I hear Tessa saw me in Argentina...I feel famous...jk haha!! Elder Williams from my zone got his question answered first! It was really fun! I think the thing that I will take away most from it is what he said about scripture study. He promised us that as long as we feast upon the word and have real prayer everyday we will never stray, and our faith will always be sufficient to get us through our trials. It all comes back to exact obedience. Our Heavenly Father waits to bless us when we obey and I know that that is SO true! I witness it everyday that I am here :) We also got to see Meet the Mormons and it was so COOL! I really loved it, and if you guys haven't seen it yet I suggest you go so uplifting and fantastic :) We also got to make meals for people in a big service project and then we had sack lunches in our classroom and we went through and read all of the things that we had put in our Thankful box, it was so hilarious, and I'm so glad that I got to be in the MTC for Thanksgiving. At the end of the day I just wanted to yell, "THIS THANKSGIVING KICKS LAST THANKSGIVINGS TRASH!!" <-- name that show ;)

Next big thing, SHERI DEW spoke to us in relief society on Sunday and she talked about women and the priesthood and the role that we play with that. She asked us if we were ready to engage in a wrestle with God to come to know things for ourselves like Enos was, and she encouraged us to ask real questions, and search for our answers. She also told us to NEVER SELL THE GOSPEL SHORT. Don't ever hide behind anything, be direct, be sincere and testify, the spirit will come and bear witness that the things that you say are true, and that people will feel your power. She is so fantastic, one day I will be as amazing as she is! That night we had our devotional as always, and VOCAL POINT came and sang to us! They opened with the 12 days of Christmas and it was hilarious, and then they went through and some of the guys shared things that they wished they would've known before they left the MTC and then they sang hymns about each of those topics. They were so fantastic and they brought the spirit so strong. I think the point that I loved the most was that the savior is the lighthouse and we are the lower lights that guide people back to the lighthouse. It's up to us to light the way and bring others back to Christ. And then they sang "Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy". It was amazing!!

Last night we had an amazing devotional by Elder Mark F Evans of the 70 and he talked to us all about the new Christmas message that the church is starting this year #heisthegift #sharethegift if you haven't seen it yet, go look it up! As you guys get ready for Christmas remember that Christ not only died for you but that he lived for you! Discover the gift, embrace the gift and share the gift!! I know that the Savior lives and that he knows each of us personally, and that with him we can do anything! I challenge you guys to share the saviors love, and let everyone know that they can know him and feel his love!

ALSO! I forgot my funny moments!
1: We could not fall asleep the night before Thanksgiving and we were all cracking up about funny things, and somehow someone brought up jungle fever, and Hmna Card said, "My friend had major jungle fever when she came back from her mission." Hmna Burt: "I used to have jungle fever" Me: "My mom had jungle fever" Hmna Beard: "Wait...your mom served a mission?" Hmna Card : "Do you even know what jungle fever IS??!!" moment of silence Hmna Beard: "no...." LOL we were all laughing so hard!
and also I can't remember if I told you this or not but here you go:
One of the Elders in our zone got a hair cut and I was trying to tell him that his hair looked great, however my brain was totally in Spanish mode so I said to him "Your hair is good!" to which he said "what?" and i again repeated "your hair is good....I'm done talking now" lol that happens all the time. So not only can I not speak perfect Spanish, but I now cannot speak English lol
ALSO
one of the elders got sent pictures from the new star wars movie and ALL of the elders are FREAKING OUT and it's hilarious and I wish you could see it lol :)
