Hola familia!
So we had tons and tons more rain here this week which makes it hard to contact because no one is in the streets and then when we knock on doors people tell us that they cant talk to us because it´s raining....WHAT?! lol that doesnt even make sense hahaha but we were able to find some really awesome Menos Activos in our area and one of them named Zulma is making really great progress. she told us she couldnt read her book of mormon because she didnt have her glasses. BUT she came to church this sunday and she brought her glasses to show us that she found them so she can read! que capa! We also ran into this little abuelita that we taught like 3 weeks ago. We had passed by once and she wasnt there, and she wasnt really interested and we actually ended up teaching her grandsons more than her. She told us that she still wasnt interested but that our lesson had changed her grandsons, and that she wants us to come back and teach them more! The 13 yr old was really involved in the lesson, but the 15 yr old was watching spain vs someone (i wanted to watch too hahaha). But she said they were talking about prophets the other day! AH! we got her number and we´re gonna set up a cita with all of them again!
in other news:
we got the calls for transfers this past friday. I figured that i would just be here for one more transfer with hna allen because i had 2 transfers in caleta and it usually goes 2 transfers in one area, 3 in another.....BUT they told me that i got called to COMODORO RIVADAVIA!!! which means i´ll get your packages and letters sooner! and then they told me "and your new compa is...well we dont know yet because YOU´RE GONNA TRAIN!" what the what??? i´ve only got 6/7 months and i´m gonna train a newbee aaaaaahhhhhhh. this also means that we will both be new to our area: WHITE WASH so we wont know any of the people in our ward, the investigators or where we are for that matter LOL this will be a great adventure and i am super pumped about it all :) I know that when the Lord calls us to do something he prepares the way for us we just gotta find it!
i thought i´d ahve more time here in rio graNDE but that´s the mission and that´s life for you! I´m heading up to comodoro tomorrow in the morning!LOVE YOU ALL!! have a great week!!

May 25th

Hola Familia!
This last week was super awesome and super rainy. If you are praying for rain please stop! LOL we were soaked for like 3 days straight because our boots didnt have time to dry out lol.
Tuesday we did a tsunami(where all of the missionaires go out and contact and teach in an area) with our district in the area of the elders. it´s elder garrido´s(our dl) last week in the mission so he has big plans we went and contacted there and it was super fun and super muddy :) and we got to take a pic with the trucha which is this giant trout statue...pretty much the onlyawesome thing we have in rio grande lol we were in skirts so we couldnt get up on top of it. but we have a district goal to go back on pday and take a pic with it lol.
Wednesday we had divisions with the hna capacitadores. Hna estigaribbia and Hna Zanuttini. It was super fun and awesome. i was with Hna Zanuttini and it was hilarious because she is the mom(trainer) of hna burt and she was comps with hna ming(both from my ccm district) so she knows all of the crazy things we did and so she knew all of our inside jokes and it was hilarious. LOVE HER. We had a great time contacting in the rain and we had a super great lesson with a menos activo Misi she is so cute and we had our coats drying by the heater and Hna zanuttini´s plack melted hahahahahaha
One miracle was : EROS CAME TO CHURCH!!!!!!! aaaaaaahhhhhh and all of the talks were about the things that we had talked about with him and the lessons that we had read together in the book of mormon. it was like ARE YOU HEARING THIS??!! lol we also had 2 of the menos activos that we are visiting come to church and they had a great time. AND we had a menos activo come to church and he brought his non member wife and their kids! we set a cita with them for this week and we are going to teach them. they are really lovely people and we are pumped to get to know them :)
other miracle: in our district we had a couple who got MARRIED so that they could get baptized and then they got baptized the day after and then they got confirmed!! aaaaahhhhh so many tears and happiness!! we all got to go to the wedding and we just had such a blast at the baptism! and it was even better because Elder hunt( who was with us and then had to leave and go to centro for an emergency transfer) got to come back so it was like our original district all together!! our district is named: distrito chocho(that means that your like super happy) lol and we got to have gridos ice cream after yeah!! it was super awesome because this coming week is the end of the transfer and elder garrido is going home adn hna gomez will be leaving because she has 3 transfers here already. I´m pretty sure i´ll stay here for another transfer but we´ll see :)
Well i love you all and i hope you are sharing this wonderful gospel with the people you know so that they can take part in the joy that comes from living the gospel!!!!

May 18th

This week was super wet. lol it poured and poured and poured rain and then it poured some more. we were soaked through! lol. we had a great week contacting and finding more people to teach.
We had a miracle lesson with a woman named catalina. We were walking down the street and i saw this house. I knew that we had knocked this door before and that the people werent interested or something like that, but i just felt like we needed to knock. the front of the house was weird and had 2 doors so we were debating which one to knock and the lady opened the door and said ¨hermanas! pasen!!¨and it was like what?? turns out her daughter took the mission lessons one time and she has a book of mormon and she has been reading it with her grandkids!
We taught her the restoration and how she could know it was true, she asked what she should do if she knows its true. so we talked about baptism and she said that she wanted that, and we talked about how she needed to prepare we talked about some of the commandments and she told us that she´s not married to her husband they´ve been together for almost 30 yrs but that his mom left when he was young so he doesnt like marriage. SO we put a baptismal date with her and we are planning to go back and talk with the two of them! we are praying that his heart can be changed!

Fabiana is great and she went to a YSA activity this last week and loved it and know has more friends in the church we are going to talk with her tonight :) Eros told us that a couple of weeks ago he broke the word of wisdom and drank some beer with his friends but that it made him feel awful and that he felt so much guilt about it that he didnt think he could pray to god and ask for forgiveness. We talked about repentance and he read part of the pamphlet that talks about how repentance lets us start new and that our desires to follow god are strengthened when we change, and he started crying!!! it was so beautiful to teach him about the atonement and the blessing it is in our life!
We also had the blessing of seeing the dedicacion of the temple of cordoba! it was so beautiful and lovely. Elder Uchtdorf did the prayer. what a blessing to have 2 temples here in argentina! the next one will be here in the patagonia!! ;) hahaha at least thats what we work for here in the mission :)
What a blessing to be here serving these people! i couldn´t imagine my life without them! my love goes home to all of you! keep on keeping on!!!

May 11th: FIRST BAPTISM!!!

Hola Familia!
It was so great to get to talk to all of you yesterday! You know everything recent lol so i´m sending you pictures of the baptism. Fabiana is just so great, she was prepared by our Heavenly Father i know! She was so excited she said that she almost cried when all the missionaries sang teach me to walk in the light. She came to church sunday and got confirmed and she was just glowing! que capa! we love her super much! we have a schedule set up to teach her the lessons of retention. She´s got the number of the young single adults leaders in our area and is planning to attend the activities :) We are having a blast here in our area. It´s always raining and we are always soaked but it is awesome!
Know that I love you all and that I´m praying for all of you especially dad right now! I cant stress enough the need for prayer and scripture study everyday, they are sources of strength and how we come to know our heavenly father and lord and savior jesus christ more! love you all!
besitos!!

May 4th

Whoa!! que locura esta semana in ther words what a crazy week. we had a lesson with fabiana about the plan de salvacion and the doctrine of christ, we had her baptism date for the end of may, but in the lesson she told us that she wants to get baptized this weekend!! seriously so crazy i cant even believe it! she´s met with missionaries twice before and it just wasnt her time yet. she is so ready and at church on sunday she was just beaming any talk of baptism and she glowed and she is hoping to get a recommend to see the dedication of the temple in cordoba!! she is seriously so great! everything is falling into place! pray for her to stay strong. prayers really do work!! The field is white!
that happened and last night was the worst for proselyting because the game was on and it was boca vs river (those are 2 of the many teams in argentina, but they´re huge rivals). no one wanted to talk with us and the streets were silent lol so whenever we knocked doors we were like whos winning? haha boca won boooooo obvio me gusta river pero bueno. thats how it is in Argentina :) when boca made a goal in the final half, you could here everyone yelling in their houses when we were in the streets lol.  I LOVE ARGENTINA!!
Well i will talk to you all next week on skype for the dia de la amy ;) love you lots have a great week!!

April 27th

Hola familia!!!
we had a blast as a trio this last week we had to wait together until wednesday in the night for my comp to come hahaha comodoro rivadavia the mission where we start the transfers on monday and we dont end them until friday lol. yup thats how big our mission is. I love hmna gomez and martin we see them all the time because they live behind us and we are in the same district and everything so it was jus tlike a big missionary sleep over.
My new comp is Hermana Maya Allen from missouri. She is so tiny...no more alfejors for me haha. She was in my zone in caleta she served in las herras. She just completed 14 months in the mission yesterday. we made a cake and everything to celebrate it and it was so delicious. i have no regrets hahaha. She is super quiet and timid, but she is a great teacher! bahahaha we´re like the opposite of each other but she is quirky and funny you just have to talk to her for a little :) she´s awesome. we will have a great time together this transfer!! Its been a totally different experience this week because i am leading the area hahahaha. it is super fun and i like it lots.
Heros didnt come to church and that was a super bummer, but our investigator fabianna came to church and that was a miracle. she is super sweet and i love her. she told me that she has been praying and is receiving answers little by little everyday. que capa!! she is 18 and she has come to church twice before. we are preparing her for a baptism date at the end of may. Pray for her to keep receiving answers and that we can find opportunities to teach her because her schedule is crazy.
We have interviews with president this week and we are going to go eat tacos with our zone after this  yeah! love you all lots!!
besitos!

April 20th

Hola Familia!
Well we finished another transfer! I seriously cant believe how fast the time has gone by! I feel like i just got to rio grande yesterday! Transfers were crazy. My comp Hermana Miranda got transferred to a different area and it was sad to see her go, but shes been here for almost 5 months so it was time for her to go help other parts of the mission. my new companion will be Hermana Allen and she´ll get here tomorrow or wednesday. She was in my zone in Caleta, but she served in one of the smaller towns in the zone so i only saw her in sone meetings but she is really nice and can play the piano really well hahaha so prayer answered! ;) Right now i´m with hna gomez and hna martin in a trio. Our zone super changed because they sent the zone leaders to centro and they took out the hnas from centro which means that hna burt and hna ledesma are leaving on wednesday :(. Hna burt is super mad lol she only got a month and a half on the island and yet again she has a different comp, she´s had a different one each transfer pobrecita! But its ok because we have big plans for our missions. we always joke that we´re gonna open calafate for hermanas one day hahaha IN OUR DREAMS.

This week we were able to teach Heros more he lacks a little bit in his testimony of joseph smith and he needs to come to church. Pray for him to come to church!! we seriously have a blast everytime we teach them and i just love him and nahuel so much! such amazing people! This week we contacted a lot and visited a lot families and people in the area so hna miranda could say goodbye. We met with a really fantastic brother and sister Fabianna and Luciano. Shes 18 and hes 14 fabiana came to church because they´re neighbor invited them and then she asked us if we could help her find a skirt for sundays. They are old investigators from a couple years ago and they are seriously so great. Luciano was going to be baptized but his parents didnt give him permission because he was so young. Pray that their parents can have open hearts and that they can be baptized because they have a baptism date for the 16th of May! They are both wonderful!!

funny moment: Nahuel was looking at my facebook and he saw the pic of us with tutu and said ´wow ellos son sus hermanos....son bien morachos!´ lol that means that we´re all really brown/tan hahahahaha

other funny moment we were talking about service and hna miranda said sometimes we pass up opportunities to serve, and nahuel said like when people sneeze and we dont say bless you. heros and I were dying we were laughing so hard. oh man so much love for those two.

Well i´ll tell you all about Hermana Allen and our new adventures in the next week! Love you all lots and hope that you have a great week!

besitos y abrazos
