Letter 3

Holy cow time seriously flies here! I feel like I've lived here my whole life and that my district and companera have been my friends for FOREVER (pre existence friends for sure). Remember how I told you about Elder Peake last time? Well he is finally getting out of here! He's been here longer than the Russian speakers lol! He got the news today and he leaves in a couple hours and we are all so distraught about it! It's crazy how close learning the gospel and a language can bring you over the span of a week! We will miss him so much and he has been such a blessing to have! He told us that of all the districts he's been with he loves ours the most and that we're family! aaaawwwww so precious! It's already been decided that we're road tripping out to South Carolina for his homecoming!

I don't know if I told you about our first investigator that we have been teaching, (he's the one I handed the Bible to instead of the Book of Mormon...again WOOPS). Well it turns out that he is actually one of our teachers! *dramatic music* duh, Duh DUH! (or in spanish chun, Chun CHUN!!). His name is Hermano Bond and it was so weird to have him start teaching us, but it's also really good because he knows what we need to work on and how he can help us :)
Mi companera Hermana Beard got super sick this week and it was so sad :( She had a sore throat and then she thought it turned into a sinus infection, but then it moved to her eye and we had to go down the road to the BYU urgent care, but FEAR NOT because she got some meds and a preisthood blessing and she is feeling better now! We stayed in our room on Monday and she got to rest, it was actually good because I kind of had a cold, so we just read the Book of Mormon in Spanish and I memorized the first vision en Espanol!! Aw yeah!
Thank you SO much for your package! It was seriously SO huge! we got a lot of funny looks as we carried it out of the mail room! I have already worn both of my tiger shirts...surprise...surprise! And we shared all of the cinnamon rolls as a going away party for Elder Peake and they were so delicious!

On Sundays during sacrament meeting they randomly call 2 people up to give the talks on the topic assigned for that day en Espanol and this week I got called up! LOL I totally knew it was coming too. It was good and not really scary because everyone in our zone is working hard to learn the language, and if you can feel the spirit, then it doesn't matter how terribly you speak it ;) we also got some news that we are getting a new district in this week! A couple of Hermanas and Elders and they are all going to Argentina as well! SO excited to meet them!

Here's some funny stuff that happened this week: we found out that Hermano Figaroa's first name is Ignacio and that everyone calls him Nacho and he loves it because he loves Nacho Libre bahahahaha. When we found out that our investigator's name was Hermano Bond, Hermana Pyper asked "is your first name James" and he said "no mi nombre es Hermano" LOL. Hermano Arce was trying to figure out a sentence for me that he wanted me to translate into Spanish and he said "I am.....I am" and me and Hermana Ming burst out singing "A REAL RELIGIOUS MAN!!" long live Nacho Libre lol it's a good thing that we are all in a district together because we all love that movie so much hahahahaha. And one more hahaha Me and Hermana Beard talked to this Elder and his companion while we were waiting to teach an investigator at TRC and then we were wondering how old he is cuz he has one of those faces where he could be 25 but he could also maybe be 18 so we've been betting all week about how old he is, finally today we ran into him and started talking, and as we were leaving we were like "oh by the way, how old are you?" and he was like "how old do you think I am" and I yelled "21!!" and she yelled "19!!"....he's 19 DANG IT! hahaha it was hilarious and it's a good thing we settled that today because he leaves on Monday for Chicago!

The MTC is seriously so amazing. We've already heard talks from Bonnie L Oscarson, Linda K Burton and Rosemary Wixom! I feel like each week person literally comes to speak directly to me! There is no doubt in my mind that they are called of God and that the Lord knows us personally! I am constantly in awe of the love that I feel from Heavenly Father and Jesus as I learn more and grow closer to Christ! I can't wait to get to Argentina, but the MTC is fantastic for now!

Te Amo Mucho!

Hermana Lock
